A day before Halloween I found a few people unconscious near my room in the school, they didn’t seem dead just...lying there, immobile. Then a rush of students went right past them. Even though I don’t like getting into much that doesn’t interest me, I ran after them. It was nearing 7pm, the forbidden hour for people to go outside and these kids seemed human and not really anything more.
Two out of the three students were boys and the other a girl. The girl had long black hair tied up into a ponytail and she was a bit faster than the boys with her limber figure, sprinting easily without the need to breathe much. One of the boys had blackish brown hair and wasn’t exactly the best sprinting buddy, for he seemed like he was breathing the most, asthma maybe? Last, but not least, was the boy with multi-colored hair, brown and blonde mixed with a tint of black. When they ran out of the school, I followed, although the outside seemed strangely foggy. The fog did not dissipate as we all sprinted into it and it was difficult to tell if the children were even there . They all looked to be about 14 or 15 so, it’s not like it should be super hard to see them, yet it was.
It seemed like we all were trapped in the fog for days, maybe even a week by now. Did anyone notice? By the time the fog died down, the children were waiting by a large tree, all three smiling the same disturbing smile. They all took out weapons, the girl had a large pair of scissors, the blackish brown haired boy took out a dagger, and the last one took out a needle sort of weapon that was quite long and, all in all, sharp. They all ran at me cutting once, twice, three times.
I couldn’t even tell how long it took before I was able to come to my senses but, I knew that it had to be a bit longer than usual seeing as my arms started to bleed, along with my legs, right side of my face, and my stomach which had probably the biggest gash possible. At the same time, it seemed I was unable to do anything at all to stop them. When I did come to my senses I couldn’t even enter full defense mode. Only being able to mimic their movements while their own faces became even more corrupted.
“Hey~ Yuko, when should we stop?” said the brown haired boy laughing slightly. As if they couldn’t fully hear each other, the girl, who I guess was named ‘Yuko’, replied softly.
“Stop? Did you say stop Oliver? Haha. As if we ever would! What do you think, Kenta?”
“Yeah, Oliver, this is way too much fun. I didn’t think it would be but, this teacher can take a lot~”
After that, they kept laughing in unison while taking turns stabbing me from side to side.
“Ah! S-Stop!” I pushed my hands out in front of me and just barely got slashed only in the hand.
After about 10 more minutes of doing my best to dodge the hits, the kids disappeared from my eyes, as if they were never there in the first place. To make sure I kicked at the area around me, nothing was in contact with my leg so I guess I was safe. I slowly made my way back to the school, ever so often getting lost. When I finally found my way back, there was blood everywhere, and everyone was crowded around the Dean, who seemed to not be breathing anymore. All of the people there were whispering something along the lines of, “It’s over.”
