Loud noises reverberated around the empty church from the large golden organ placed on the middle of the altar. The figure who played against the ancient keys, sulked over the instrument, his dark eyes closed as he lightly swayed his body to the melody of one of the hymns found in the song book. After the song ended, the figure walked down the steps of the altar, making his way down the narrow aisles.
Two large arcs were located on the side of the church building, leading to the exit which the man locked after entering. The man’s fingers skimmed across the tops of the wooden pews that were facing in the direction of the altar up front. With one simple motion of his hand, the pews rose up in the air and swooshed to the left and right walls, smashing into millions of bits.
In the middle of the floor sat a man, a reverend, holding onto the wooden cross that was wrung across his neck. Quivering, his blue eyes met the black ones of the mysterious man.
“You can not be in here! This is a place of God!” The reverend exclaimed, his heart thumping in erratic and quick beats.
“Ha! God? There is no God you fool!” The man spat as he walked towards the Christian man.
The reverend scooted on his bottom away from the intimidating and terrifying creature until his back hit the brick wall behind him. All of his senses were alert as he eyed the unholy figure who was slowly making his way to him in an antagonizing manner.
“Stay away from me! Stay away!” The reverend shouted while holding his crucifix in front of him for protection.
The demon chuckled, and with one blink of his right eye, the cross burst into flames, causing the human to drop the talisman and cry out in agony from the burns of the flames.
“You puny humans believe in nonsense. You think a cross can protect you? Ha! Nothing can save you from my kind.” The demon spoke with a devilish grin, his black eyes turning even darker, causing the holy man to shiver out of his skin in fear.
Suddenly, the light from the candles that were placed around the church blew out into one whisper and the vacant space was filled with screams of pain and horror.
